Why I love chinoiserie:
It fits in almost any design scheme / room / house
It feels well traveled
There is attention to detail in every design / object
It is bold and sometimes colorful
I love to create narratives with all of the little figures
It fits in almost any design
The fabrics and wall coverings in these shots are just some of my inspirations for a future library of mine. I have no idea when or where there this library will ever materialize… but for now it exists in my mind…my creative playground. I’d love walls papered in Philip Jeffries grass cloth or upholstered in wool to give it a cozy, nest-like feel. I would upholster a deep, dreamy sofa in velvet, of course… and dress it with Rose Cummings faux fur pillows. The print will be for drapes and or two deep English armchairs. Marbleized paper will canvas the backs of bookshelves where all of my favorite books will reside. Yes, please! Shake up a martini and call it heaven.
