16 Jul The weird things at Brimfield
Brimfield Massachusetts hosts the largest outdoor antique flea market in the country and I have just returned from a fun day of buying, browsing and inspiration. Armed with a pocket full of cash (more bargaining power), a shopping list, a tape measure and a positive attitude…the day could not be more exciting. It happens F-A-S-T….fields open at daybreak and there are thousands of people in attendance so you have to work quickly to scan the booths and make split second decisions like: “should I buy this set of awesome chairs that I really don’t need right away..but I may never see again…oh, they are so great…hmmmm, are they worth the money?….” and before you know it someone else comes along and has bought them right before your eyes! Bummer!!!
You win some, you lose some, right? Right! Well, by 1 pm I had accomplished all I had set out to do, so the afternoon, albeit drizzly and damp, was spent noticing the stranger things Brimfield offers. Besides people watching, you see the darnedest things. I can’t even explain the photos, so I leave it up to you all to wonder…”really?”.
